My two year old daughter and I adore the Play Toys barn! It is generously sized, but not too big, and perfect for imaginative play. It is beautifully made with non-toxic rubberwood and is sturdy but not too heavy. The detailing is adorable and it looks perfect in my little girl's playroom. It was a little time consuming to assemble, but nothing a handy husband or experienced mom can't handle. My daughter had fun "helping" to put in the screws. The accessories that are included are so cute and make the barn more interesting to play with. My little one uses the hay bales as pillows for her Plan Toys farm animals to lay on when they take naps in the barn. The pulley system is a little advanced for her age, but this is definitely a toy that she will continue to grow into. I do wish that a few animals were included with the set, but even if the barn was sold with NO accessories, it would still be worth every penny! The only surprise I encountered was that the red roof pieces are removable. I don't remember reading that on the site's description. This is the only downfall to the barn, and the reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. On one hand, I like that the roof pieces can be removed for easier access, but am frustrated that they don't stay on very well when you want them to. The slightest movement will send them falling to the floor. I may consider gluing them on permanently to solve this problem, as the roof is pretty open even with the pieces attached. My toddler has been having a blast putting arranging all of her wooden animals inside the barn and opening and closing the little doors. The farmer's tools are hard to keep track of and don't stand easily because they are so tiny, but she is a little young for those anyway. She really loves the ladder and makes each animal climb it to get to the roof. I think ages 2-6 would most likely enjoy this the most. It is a great toy for sparking imagination and teaching about farm life. I would buy it again in a heartbeat, and I am thrilled that the barn lived up to my expectations. I highly recommend Plan Toys for the quality and durability. It is always worth spending a little extra money to buy something that will become a classic and can be passed down to other generations!

My son received this as a birthday gift. It's really well made, and he's having a lot of fun playing with it. He has taken to putting the animals to "sleep in barn" before bed at night. It makes for good imaginative play. It also seems pretty sturdy and all of the pieces are easy for him to manipulate.
